Pakistan contrary to popular belief is still a third world country, even with all the nuclear (war) capabilities. This region of the world has been hit by famines, sickness, and constant skirmishes with India. In recent years, the Taliban have become their enemy, while they fight alongside the United States. The Pakistan government with all of its outside conflicts has not been able to amass any kind of continuous energy power for its people except for a deficient power grid that runs primarily on imported oil. Serious research and analysis have been done decades ago for geothermal and hydro electrical power. There is amazing reservoirs in the northern parts of Pakistan that could be converted to geothermal power, and their hydro program is non-existent. If this region of the world was to stabilize, Pakistan could be one of the leaders of the renewable age.
